"At F1.4, my Nikon 5cm f1.4 S-C - which is almost 65 years old - is too hazy for focus peaking to work at all in magnified focus view. When stopped down a little though, it works well. I took this foggy morning shot at F4.
Central sharpness is very good but as you can see, the edges aren't great on close examination. It's probably fair to assume though that 36MP digital capture was not the first thing on the minds of the lens's designers."
